The Cavalry Competitive program offers the highest level of soccer in the Brazos Valley. Players must demonstrate a substantial level of commitment to training in order to maintain physical and mental readiness for competitions, as Cavalry Youth Soccer Club desires all of its teams to hold or promote in league status from season to season. All players receive playing time, but the amount of playing time and positions are at the discretion of the Cavalry coaches, subject to league rules, based on player ability and commitment.

What is the Cavalry's Competitive soccer program?
A soccer program for boys born 1999-2007 that offers three training sessions and one game per week. Players participate in the Fall and Spring seasons. Players are placed on teams based on age and ability. Our experienced, licensed coaches conduct training sessions coach games. Competitive players are required to register and participate in tryouts.

Where are training sessions held?
Training sessions for Competitive ages are held at Veterans Park in College Station or Nutrabolt Stadium in Bryan, depending on field availability.

Where are games played?
In general, games for Competitive ages are played in the NW Houston area.

What do I need to bring to trainings?
Shin guards and soccer cleats are mandatory. Players also need to bring a soccer ball and water.

What are the training sessions like?
Training sessions are led by our Director of Coaching, and supplemented by our professional staff coaches.  Competitive curriculum emphasizes:

  • technical training (ball mastery)
  • small-sided to goal situations
  • possession and finishing games with progression to a 9v9 or 11v11 match

When are the seasons?
Fall training is mid Aug - mid Dec.
Spring training is mid Jan - early May
Players will have holiday breaks similar to the school calendars.

What is included?
Dues for the Competitive include a year long program, with seasons in the Fall and Spring, to include professional training 3 nights a week, games (all league fees), and 2 tournaments over the course of the year. Uniforms are not included for competitive ages.
